TASTING NOTES:
As a whole, The Black Lion 2019 vintage was slightly cooler, letting us accumulate masses of flavour and perfect quality tannins. This vintage has a very expressive and elegant character, which results in a wine with exceptional aromas, defined by its elegant clarity and beautiful integration.
These Shiraz grapes are assembled from distinctly unique terroirs, namely the Swartland, contributing to the wine's remarkable power and Stellenbosch, ensuring its undeniable elegance.
Expect a ripe, expressive bouquet, showcasing creamy black cherries, hints of plum, sweet spices and as it develops further, fresh notes of crunchy mulberries. The palate is extremely defined, the flavours are pure and precise - purple fruit with some subtle oak flavours perfectly rounding off the wine. The tannins are ripe and finely grained, while the acidity perfectly frames the wine.
