The exquisite climate conditions endured during the 2020 season have ultimately added true depth and concentration to the lavish The Black Lion 2020 vintage. This was one of the windier seasons, which made this vintage a slight bit more challenging than usual. But, that’s the beauty of nature – not one day or year is ever the same!
These Shiraz grapes are assembled from distinctly unique terroirs, namely the Swartland, contributing to the wine's remarkable power and Stellenbosch, ensuring its undeniable elegance. Full-bodied, with great depth – one can certainly expect some truly expressive flavours from this robust wine. Exceptionally multi-layered with complex aromas of blackberry, spicy pepper notes and a hint of toasty cigar. On the palate, the wine has a firm yet elegant tannin structure
showcasing concentrated purple, black fruit and wood delivered sweet spices which lures one into a long, intense finish. This wine shows great vibrancy, promising decades of drinking pleasure to follow.
