Hartenberg Wine Estate, located in Stellenbosch's Bottelary Hills, pays tribute to Ken “Stork” Mackenzie, a WWII Spitfire pilot and former owner of the estate, with The Stork Syrah. This exceptional wine is crafted from a single vineyard planted exclusively with the SH99 Syrah clone on deep clay-rich "terra rossa" soils.
Deep, bright ruby red, leaping from the glass with a bold bouquet of black cherry, blackberry, and hints of thyme buchu layered with warm spices and a subtle meaty note.
Concentrated and dense flavours burst on the palate with textured black fruits and fragrant renosterbos (an endemic shrub with an earthy scent), finishing fresh, lifted, and lingering.
