Hartenberg Wine Estate, located in Stellenbosch's Bottelary Hills, pays tribute to Ken “Stork” Mackenzie, a WWII Spitfire pilot and former owner of the estate, with The Stork Syrah. This exceptional wine is crafted from a single vineyard planted exclusively with the SH99 Syrah clone on deep clay-rich "terra rossa" soils.
The vineyard ripens up to a month later than other sites on the estate, allowing the grapes to develop exceptional complexity and balance. The result is a wine that exemplifies the unique characteristics of its terroir and the meticulous craftsmanship of the Hartenberg winemaking team.
