The Kruithuis was completed in 1777 as the munitions building for the Dutch East India Company. Prior to this, the officers of the Stellenbosch cavalry had to go to Cape Town for military training once a year. Today, the Kruithuis stands as a symbol of military strength and power, which is reflected in the powerful flavors and structure of our Syrah.
Dark and brooding with mulberry, blackberry, tobacco, and cured meat on the nose.
Full bodied with ripe yet present tannins, and integrated acidity to support the intense
flavours of mulberry, green pepper corn, bramble, and cumin. A dense and layered
Syrah with a spicy finish.
